Opening in December 2005 the Inn at Rooster Hill was a place waiting for Innkeepers Layne and Peggy Frehner. With an extensive Rooster collection, Peggy knew she had found the right place to display them all.  With 2-1/2 acres and a background in landscaping throughout the Frehner family, Layne had found a place that he could put his creative touch on.

With the help of our friends, we moved in and spent three months redecorating, furnishing and learning about all the ins and outs of this great property. Now the ancestors have been hung in the hallway that all may see them.  And many nights of scraping wallpaper and painting have produced a warm and comfortable home that we love.

It has been our dream to have a home that we can open to all that come through so that they would enjoy it as much as we do, while still keeping a place to have our family visit and feel at home. Over the next few years, it is our dream to expand on the basic delights of this home.

Inn at Rooster Hill was originally built as a bed and breakfast and our goal is to lovingly create it into a place that all will remember and return too.  We hope that you return and see the plans and progress we have made.

This winter we are tackling our own room (yea), and refreshing the paint in some of the others.  Updating bedding, which is my favorite thing to do since I have a linen fetish.  With no gigantic projects to do I think Layne will feel lost.  I will try to keep him busy though.

Update:  Well we made it through our second year as innkeepers.  We feel a little more relaxed about this now. !  Thanks to our great guests, a lot of good input on how we could improve not only our rooms but our service has been taken to heart and we are working on all sorts of things.  The winter will give us a much needed break with just a few guests here and there it is nice.    Peggy bought an old ironrite and for right now is actually having fun ironing all those napkins and pillowcases and even attempting the top hem of the sheets. Update on the ironrite. I now have two of them the new one is out in the garage in case the other ever breaks again (like this summer).    We sure look forward to seeing all of you who came the last two years and meeting all of you who will come this year.  Thanks for your business.  Thanks for the great reviews on Tripadvisor also.
